Family
A strong family unit is important to the community, to our schools, and to our parishes. To help strengthen the ties between home, school, parish and community, the CCSCC holds an annual Parent’s Institute. Through this institute, programs are presented to enable parents to deal with situations that may affect their children morally, socially and academically.
Love of God
God is the very reason for our existence and should be the focal point around which our daily lives revolve. As a group, we recognize the importance of God in our lives and uphold a lively devotion by offering two types of activities: spiritual and service.
By offering Masses and a Morning of Reflection, the opportunity to come together and grow spiritually is offered to all members. Members can also take part in apostolic services offered, such as the annual Clothe a Child campaign and the annual Keep Christ in Christmas project. The CCSCC has supported Hotel Hope, the Second Harvest Backpack Program, ACCESS Pregnancy, Notre Dame Seminary and the Catholic Charities Head Start Programs. Our member schools come together in community to pray and love in the service of others.
Education
An objective of the Council is to promote and encourage activities directed toward the Catholic education and welfare of youth and to provide a channel of information to affiliated parent groups.
Our close association with the Office of Catholic Education allows us to keep members informed and aware of what is happening in our schools. We are also able to offer suggestions and input reflecting member club ideas and concerns.
The CCSCC offers annual workshops to assist clubs and individuals to become better oriented in school activities and experiences by sharing and exchanging knowledge and ideas among parent clubs in the Archdiocese. Workshops offered throughout the year include: Parliamentary, Publicity, CCSCC Representative, Religion in the Home and Legislative.
Activities
An organization depends upon new membership to help it survive, grow and experience renewal. To help insure these things, a reception honoring both incoming and outgoing Presidents of all parents clubs in the Archdiocese is held annually in May. The purpose of this event is to strengthen the relationship between the schools of the Archdiocese and help new members get better acquainted with CCSCC and other Parent Clubs.
The annual Luncheon, held in the fall, is the largest CCSCC event held. Every school club along with their Principal, Pastor and members are encouraged to attend. The event is an opportunity for all schools to emphasize and celebrate the important role Catholic education plays in the community.
Support
We ask that you give the Council your support and encourage your school club to do likewise so that together we can unite our forces concerning the welfare of the individual Catholic Schools within the Archdiocese of New Orleans. We think that the four aspects of the Council will help parent clubs not only develop new programs and activities, but will unite all of us to combine our efforts and pool our resources in the interest and cause of Catholic education. All members and all parents clubs are invited to attend any of our functions.
The CCSCC depends on member schools for the success of the organization. We need your ideas, participation and support to spread the good news of Catholic education and to provide our children with the best opportunities for academic and spiritual growth.
